Jasc Animation Shop works 100%. Ulead GIF Animator produces GIFs with shitty colors. Cursory look shows Ulead produces 7 bit GIFs, while Jasc produces 8 bit GIFs (not really sure about this though).

TLDR: Use Jasc Animation Shop for now.
