An interesting show. If you are interested in information security you might enjoy it.
A word of caution, avoid reading reviews of Mr Robot, it seems a lot of reviewers spoil the show by mentioning a major movie from the 1990s.
Regarding realism, although it may be technically correct, it is usually out of context. The writers of the show did due diligence, but probably lack the fundamental understanding of technologies involved. So in terms of hacking realism, it's not on the level of Blackat or The Matrix, but miles ahead of laughably ridiculous Swordfish, etc.
